We do not sell your personal information
Fixit by Bond Boss does not sell or rent your personal information, does not share it with data brokers, and does not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. There is nothing for you to opt out of in that respect. The choices below cover what we do collect in order to run the service.
1. See what we hold about you
You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and to be given a copy of it. Email us from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days (as required by POPIA). We may ask you to verify your identity first, so that nobody else can obtain your information.
2. Correct something that's wrong
Your name, phone number, email address, profile photo, city, suburb, and saved locations can all be edited directly in the app under Profile. Contractors and site inspectors can also update business details, service area, skills, and rates. If something can't be corrected in the app, email us and we'll fix it.
3. Delete your account and your data
Open your Profile, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete Account. This is available to customers, contractors, and site inspectors. It permanently removes your profile, saved locations, personal messages, ratings, and saved payment methods (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations for job histories and invoices).
Some records must be kept even after deletion — invoices, payment records, and warranty certificates are retained for the period South African tax, company, and consumer protection law requires. Access to them is restricted, and they are deleted once that period ends. You can also request deletion by emailing us.
4. Turn push notifications off
In the app, open Profile and then Notifications to control which alerts you receive. To switch them off entirely at device level, go to Settings → Notifications → Fixit by Bond Boss on iOS, or Settings → Apps → Fixit by Bond Boss → Notifications on Android. Job status alerts and incoming call alerts are part of how the service works, so turning them off may mean you miss updates about a repair.
5. Control camera, microphone, location, and photos
Every device permission the app asks for is optional and can be changed at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security on iOS, or Settings → Apps → Fixit by Bond Boss → Permissions on Android.
Camera is used to photograph damaged areas and record work performed. Microphone is used only during an in-app voice call about a job, and call audio is never recorded. Location is used to find your service address, to match you with professionals covering your area, and to confirm an inspector is on site — foreground only, never in the background. Photo library access lets you attach existing pictures to a job. Declining any of these will limit the related feature but will not prevent you using the app.
6. Stop marketing messages
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or email us directly. This does not stop transactional messages — quotes, job updates, receipts, and warranty notices — because those are part of the service you asked for.
7. Withdraw your consent
Where we rely on your consent to process information, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened, and it may mean we can no longer provide part of the service.
8. Object to how we use your information
Where we rely on legitimate interest, you may object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or we need the information to establish or defend a legal claim.
9. Complain to the regulator
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za. We would rather hear from you first so we can put it right, but you are not required to contact us before approaching them.
